Music Together® Mixed Age & Rhythm Kids K-2!
Music Together Mixed-Age — Twelve weekly, 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences—developmentally appropriate for children and FUN for parents and caregivers. Two CDs and Songbook are included!
Rhythm Kids K-2 — Rhythm Kids follows through on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8. As part of the Rhythm Kids experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids creator Tom Foote.
Music Together® Mixed-Age is the essential Music Together class. Your child can attend the Mixed-age class from birth through age five and through all nine song collections. Child development researchers recommend mixed-age groupings because they foster natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones older children learn by leading younger ones, and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and exploring musical instruments. The class provides a variety of adult-child activities that are fun and offer new ways to play musically at home. Parents, grandparents, or nanny, individually or together, may accompany the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.
Babies Only! (0-8 Months)
The Music Together® Babies Class will start your child on the path to a lifetime of musical enjoyment. Specifically designed for infants eight months and younger, this one-semester introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. In your weekly class, you will spend forty-five delightful minutes singing, dancing, and playing with your child, all in the company of other new parents and guided by an early childhood music specialist. You’ll learn how your child is developing musically and leave with lots of ideas on how to play and bond musically at home.
Bouncing your baby to the beat of your favorite song, humming the tunes you remember from your childhood: music is so much fun for you and your new baby. And for your son or daughter, it’s more than just a good time—it also supports his development. Babies are alert to the sounds of music and speech as soon as they are born, and musical interactions with their primary caregivers help them to easily learn the music of their culture and grow into confident music-makers.
